But this doesn’t mean that we can’t use any web browser on Roku. As Roku does not support any Web browser natively, we should use our smartphone or PC to cast to Roku and then use a web browser of our choice. Cast a Browser from Windows to Roku

Make sure that you’re using the latest version of Windows 10 for this to work. Follow the guide given below to use a web browser from Windows on Roku.

First of all, click on the notification icon from the taskbar. (A small message-like icon to the extreme right side of the taskbar.)

It will open the notification center with a bunch of options. Click on the Project button to open project settings where you can configure a secondary display to your main computer.

You have four options to cast the PC screen. They are PC Screen only, Duplicate, Extend, the Second screen only. You have to select an option that is convenient to you. I prefer selecting the Extend option as it will let us use the computer even while Roku is in use.

Now click on the wireless display button, it will show all the devices available to cast on the same network. It will include all the wireless displays and Roku devices connected to your same Wi-Fi network. Now all you have to do is click on the Roku device. All the devices you find here are those that support Microsoft’s Miracast technology.

Once connected, your PC display will extend to the Roku device as well. You can use your mouse and keyboard to control the display. You can also freely move Windows directly from your primary display to a Roku device as well.

Now open a browser of your choice and start using the same on your Roku device. You can use the same to browse YouTube, visit any website and do pretty much anything.

Step 2: From the options available on the left hand side of the screen, tap on the last option ‘Settings’

Step 3: Now click on the third option, ‘System’

Step 4: Under System settings, you will find an option called ‘Screen mirroring’, just click on it. Now click on the ‘Enable screen mirroring’ option to quickly start screen mirroring.

Step 5: Click on the same option again, and under ‘Screen mirroring mode’ select ‘Prompt’

Now, we are done with enabling Screen mirroring option in Roku and the initial setup process.

Next is to install and setup Zoom on your smartphone so that we can cast the same to Roku.

Step 6: Install Zoom on your smartphone (if not done already) and login to your account.

Step 7: Open your phone’s setting and go to connection and sharing settings.

Step 8: From there, you will find an option called ‘Cast’. Click on it and enable Cast option. Now search for available devices within your network and select Roku TV.

Step 9: Now a prompt will appear on your TV, just accept it.

Step 10: Now we have successfully bridged both our smartphone and TV together.

Step 11: Now join in any Zoom video call and start the call. Now all the content on your smartphone screen will be visible on the TV as well.

Additionally, you can also control the view style like Landscape or Portrait. Adjust the settings according to your use case. You can also screen record content on your Android TV as well.

Connect Zoom on Windows to TV

If you are using your Windows laptop or computer for this purpose then we got you covered as well. You can use Zoom on your laptop while the content will be displayed on a bigger screen like your TV or projector. As for the web camera, you can either use the built-in webcam on the laptop or even connect an external webcam to the laptop and place it on top of your TV for a better view for the other person.

Step 1: Make sure both your laptop and Roku is on the same network connection.

Step 2: You need to enable Screen mirroring option in Roku. For that follow the steps below

• Go to Settings
• Select System Settings
• Select Screen Mirroring Mode
• And now set the option to ‘Prompt’.

Enabling this option will notify you whenever a device is trying to cast to Roku TV.

Step 3: Go to settings and search for the ‘Cast’ option. The name might be a little different depending on your smartphone manufacturer and the custom Android skin you are using.

Note: Make sure that both your smartphone and TV are connected to the same WiFi network. In order for this Cast option to work, it is mandatory that both devices must be on the same network.

Step 4: Open the cast option and tap on the search button.

Step 6: Select the Roku TV from the list and then pair it.

Step 7: Once the connection is established and casting is turned on, open Mobdro, and start playing the video. Now both audio and video should be visible on your Roku TV.
