Error 404, the connection has timed out, the site can’t be reached, are you familiar with this situation? If yes this article is for you.

This problem is very irritating, and it is a common problem. What we all think when we first encounter this situation is maybe the wifi is not working, but sometimes the problem is not with the wifi, you can open other sites but one specific site won’t open, no matter how many times you restart your wifi.

If you want to fix this problem you are on the right path, just follow the instructions given below.

How to Fix Websites Not Loading/Opening in Browser

Wondering why this happens? Well, there can be a few reasons but there is no certain answer for it. To solve this problem you can try some of the following methods.

  • Restart your wifi router
  • Restart your computer
  • Use safe mode in windows

If the methods mentioned above did not work out, stick to the article a little longer and all the possible solutions to this problem will be in front of your eyesight.

Here are some solutions you can try to fix the “website not loading ” problem.

Try Using A VPN

If you can’t access a particular website, you can try using a Virtual private network (VPN). It can help you to access sites that are not available in your region or maybe the website is blocked for some reason. Vpn uses a different server so that you can access the desired website without any regional restrictions, it also changes the location.

Switch Device

A very effective and quick way to solve this problem can be using another device or maybe another browser. Well, this will not fix the problem on your current device/ browser but this method can save you time. If you are on a busy schedule or at the work this method is for you.

Change DNS Server

Change DNS server address, The default DNS server may not be working properly. There are many free DNS servers available for you to use, like Google and Open DNS.

To change the DNS server follow the steps shown below.

Step 1

Open the “Control panel”, you can simply search for the “Control panel” if you are using Windows 10/11, Or you can go to the start option and open the “Control panel” from there.

Control panel

Step 2

Now in the Control panel, click on the “Network and Internet” option.

Control panel

Step 3

In the “Network and Internet” section, click on the “Network and Sharing Center” option.

Informative image

Step 4

Once you are on the “Network and sharing center” section, on the right side you will see the “connections” section, there you will be able to see your internet connection name. Once located click on the connection name.

Informative image

Step 5

Now you can see the Wifi status tab, on this tab click on the “Properties” option.

Informative image

Step 6

In the Wifi properties section, double click on the Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

Informative image

Step 7

Now on the  “Internet Protocol Version 4″ tab, you can see an option for Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server, fill the recommended Google’s public DNS in the DNS section.

Informative image
  • Preferred DNS server – 8.8.8.8
  • Alternate DNS server –  8.8.4.4

Save the changes by clicking ok on both of the boxes.

You can also try a few other Public DNS If the above DNS did not work.

List of public DNS

  • DNS Watch – 84.200.69.80 and 84.200.70.40
  • Cloud flare DNS – 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
  • Open DNS – 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
  • Open NIC – 206.125.173.29 and 45.32.230.225
  • Uncensored DNS – 91.239.100.100 and 89.233.43.71

These are some secured Public DNS you can try.

You can also try flushing the DNS cache or even use a DNS benchmarking tool to test as well.

Enable/Disable Network Adapter

One more thing that you can try is by disabling and enabling the network adapter. There can be a scenario where different network adapters are installed on the computer, in this case, you can disable and then enable the network adapter again.

To disable and re-enable the network adapter follow these steps.

  • Open the control panel and click on the “Network and Internet” option.
  • Now in the network and internet section, click on the “Network and Sharing Center”.
  • Now locate the option to “Change Adapter Settings”.
  • Now right-click on your network adapter and then disable your network adapter once then enable it again.

Now if you see more than one network adapter in this section, what you have to do is to remove all the other network adapters except the one you are connected with.

This issue can be fixed by the given solutions, which can be seen above but just in case any of the given solutions did not work out for you, I will suggest contacting your customer support if the problem remains the same. As I said earlier, there is no specific reason why this happens, the given solution can work for one but might not work for someone else.

Chrome blocks some downloads to protect your device and data from various websites, which can be dangerous and can harm your data and privacy. So to avoid this, Chrome blocks certain files from downloading just for security purposes.

This is how you can solve the blocked download problem on the Chrome browser. But not only Chrome even the operating system sometimes blocks certain downloads.

You can try the solution given below to unblock a downloaded file.

How to unblock a downloaded file

  • First, locate the blocked file on your device.
  • Now right-click the file and select the properties option.

I have mentioned earlier that the chrome browser blocks certain downloads only because they can be harmful or unsafe to download. Always download anything from the sites which can be trusted and provides the exact thing that you want.

If you are not familiar with certain sites avoid using them. Instead, use sites that are known and can be trusted, there are so many websites that can be trusted so always try using them.

This is it now you know everything related to this topic. If you are reading this article on Chrome well, you have a really good browser that will make your browsing experience safe and smooth, and Google is trying its best to give you the best browsing experience possible.

Imagine browsing something important on chrome and chrome decides not to let you do your work peacefully. We all have faced this chrome crash problem and it is a very frustrating issue.

Google Chrome is a good browser for day-to-day use, but even the best ones have some bugs. In this internet era, everything that uses the internet has bugs and glitches.

We can’t escape these but companies are trying hard to optimize their services as much as possible, Chrome comes with some solutions to restore your tabs. So there is no need to worry that much as by the end of this article you will be able to access your tabs easily.

restore chrome tabs after crash

Today we will tell you how you can restore your tabs on Chrome after the crash, or if your tabs got closed accidentally then you are on the right page.

Before we head into the process, I will suggest updating your browser to the latest version available.

Restore your chrome tabs after a crash (First method)

There are a few different ways to restore your tabs on chrome, the easiest way to restore your chrome tabs is to just press CTRL + H it will open the history section.  On chrome history, you will be able to see the “Reopen closed tabs” option, it will show you the tabs that got closed accidentally or because of any glitch.

On the other hand, if you are using a MAC you can use the CMD + Y combination to see the chrome history.

Second method

You can also access the most recent tab by clicking a blank space on the tab bar on top of the window then you can choose “reopen closed tab “

Follow the steps as shown in the image below.

Another way to do this is much easier, this includes keyboard shortcuts in order to open closed tabs on the chrome browser, but this method will only work on closed tabs only if you have not restarted your computer.

To do this open your chrome browser and then use the CTRL + SHIFT + T combination it will open the closed tabs on the chrome browser.

If you are using a mac, you can use CMD + SHIFT + T combination to open the closed tabs on the chrome browser.

Third method

This might be the last way to access your closed tab.

  1. Click the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the chrome browser.
  2. Now click on the ” History ” and then click “history” in the submenu.
  3. Now you will be able to see all the browsing history and even the history of the linked device.

You can see the image shown below for better assistance.

Now you know how to restore your closed tabs. So go ahead and keep browsing.

If you want to take some more precautions so that you make your browsing experience much better and to secure your tabs.

There are a few things you can do that will help you if your Chrome browser crashed.

You can use some extensions that will help you with some chrome tabs-related problems. Some of the extensions I have come across are “lock it ” which does quite a good job, it simply locks the site you are browsing, and when you try to close that site it will prompt you on closing the tab.

This will come in handy if you accidentally close the tab.

Another extension that I know is “Tab cloud ” this extension can save and restore your browsing sessions and can also sync around multiple devices. So if your chrome ever crashes, it will automatically save all the previous browsing sessions and that too on all of the linked devices.

So you can also look for some different extensions for the chrome and can use it according to your need. So using an extension can help you a lot with these types of problems.

Well, this is it now you know every possible way to restore your chrome tabs and even some precautions you can take. Browsing is really fun, we all do it every day, and chrome is one of the most used browsers globally.

You can also try some of the other famous browsers other than chrome to get some other benefits different browsers come with different unique features.

These are some popular browsers other than chrome.

  • Firefox
  • Opera
  • Microsoft edge
  • Brave

Almost all leading web browsers including Google Chrome come with the option to enter full-screen mode. When activated, some elements like the address bar will be hidden from the view. Google Chrome and similar web browsers come with the Autofill option, where the system itself fills the data for you. If you use the Internet a lot then you might be aware that a lot of websites ask you to fill forms for creating an account, providing an address, login credentials, etc. Filling the same data, again and again, can be frustrating for some.

Sure, the Autofill feature in Google Chrome is really helpful and saves a lot of time as well. But this is not good if you are using a shared computer. If you are on a shared computer then you might want to consider disabling the autofill data. There might be some confidential data like your credit card details, mobile numbers, etc.

In this article, let’s see how to disable or turn off Autofill in Google Chrome on PC and smartphones. Over time, a lot of data might have been saved to the browser, let’s see how to clear them as well.

Disable Autofill on Chrome

How to Disable Autofill in Google Chrome

As I mentioned earlier, I will share methods to disable autofill on Chrome for PC and Smartphones. Also, make sure to delete the autofill data after disabling it as well.

Turn off Autofill on Google Chrome – PC [Windows, macOS, Linux]

If you are a Windows, Linux, or macOS user, then follow the steps mentioned below to easily disable the autofill feature on Google Chrome.

Step 1: First of all, open Google Chrome and click on the vertical three dots icon and click on Settings to open Google Chrome Settings

Access Chrome Settings
Access Chrome Settings

Step 2: The Google Chrome Settings page will open up. Now, you will find a dedicated section for Auto-fill.

Chrome Autofill Settings on PC

Basically, there are three types of autofill on Google Chrome, they are:

  • Passwords
  • Payment methods
  • Addresses and more

These are the three types in which Google stores your autofill information.

You have to click on all three options and turn off them individually.

Firstly, let’s turn off Password Autofill. Just click on Password and then disable both the ‘Offer to save passwords‘ and ‘Check passwords’ options.

Step 3: Now go back and click on Payment methods and disable the first two options: ‘Save and fill payment methods‘ and ‘Allow sites to check if you have payment methods saved‘.

Step 4: Finally, go to the Addresses and more section and disable the option – Save and fill addresses.

Disable Addresses Autofill

Now, we have successfully disabled the autofill option on Google Chrome. As there are three primary autofill categories, we have to manually turn them off.

Disable Autofill on Chrome – Android and iOS

If you use Google Chrome on your Android or iOS device, let’s see how to remove the autofill option from them as well.

Options to disable autofill on Chrome for both Android and iOS are the same.

Step 1: Open Chrome and tap on the three dots icon from the top right corner of the screen. Tap on Settings to open Chrome Settings

Open Chrome Settings
Open Chrome Settings

Step 2: Under the Basics section, tap on Passwords and turn off the toggle for ‘Save passwords‘ and ‘Auto Sign-in‘.

Step 3: Go back and tap on Payment methods. Here, disable the toggle for ‘Save and fill payment methods‘.

Step 4: Finally, go back again and tap on Addresses and more. From here, make sure to disable the option – Save and fill addresses.

Disable Addresses Autofill
Disable Addresses Autofill

That’s it now we have successfully disabled autofill on Chrome app for Android and iOS.

Even though we have disabled the autofill option, the login credentials and other details saved are still available on Chrome. So, let’s see how to delete saved autofill data on Google Chrome.

Delete Autofill Information on Google Chrome

Disabling the autofill option does not delete the data already stored on Chrome. Chrome might have saved all the details like card info, addresses, account login credentials, etc from the very beginning itself. Even after disabling the autofill feature, anyone can go and access this information from the Chrome settings.

So, it is recommended that you clear autofill data from Chrome after disabling it. Autofill data can be cleared from Chrome for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Deleting autofill information from Google Chrome is simple and is very similar to deleting browsing history. Follow the steps given below to delete autofill data on Google Chrome.

Delete Autofill on Chrome for PC

In this section, let’s see how to delete all the saved autofill information from Google Chrome for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

  • Click on the three dots icon and hover over More tools and then click on Clear Browsing Data…
Clear Browsing Data

  • Now, switch to the Advanced tab and make sure to select the Autofill option. If you don’t want to delete other data like browsing history, cache, etc then you can uncheck them and only keep the autofill option selected.
Clear Autofill Data on Chrome
Clear Autofill Data on Chrome
  • Click on the Clear data button.

That’s it, we have successfully deleted autofill information from Google Chrome.

Clear Autofill Data on Chrome App [Android & iOS]

Now, let’s see how to clear all the saved autofill information from Google Chrome’s mobile app for Android and iOS.

  • Open Google Chrome and tap on the three dots icon from the top right corner of the screen and tap on Settings.
  • Under Basics tab, tap on Privacy and security. Tap on the first option – Clear browsing data
  • Switch to the Advanced tab and make sure to tick on the Autofill form data option to clear all the autofill data. You can choose whether to keep other or not.
Clear Autofill Data on Chrome App
  • Finally, tap on the Clear data button.

We have cleared autofill data from Chrome’s mobile app as well.

Instead of using Chrome’s autofill, you may use any password managers.

Final Words

This is how we disable autofill on Google Chrome in a few steps. It is not recommended to save the autofill information like card details, account login credentials, etc on a shared computer or device. These are private data and should only be stored on your personal device. For some reasons, if you want to get rid of the, follow the steps mentioned above.

If you are concerned about your privacy and not a big fan of Google collecting personal information about you then you might want to try other Chromium based browsers with a similar set of features.

FloC stands for Federated Learning of Cohorts, it is developed by Google to better protect user privacy while using the internet. FloC basically replaces third-party cookies in websites that advertisers use for showing interest-based ads to users.

While Google introduced FloC to protect users’ privacy, not everyone is quite happy about the same. A few months back WordPress announced that they will disable Google’s FloC advertising tracking system on websites. A lot of other major web browsers like Safari, Firefox, edge, etc were not interested in the new tech by Google either.

At first, let’s see how to disable FloC in Google Chrome and if you are interested to learn more about FloC then make sure to scroll down to the end of the article where we explain FloC in detail. For now, let’s see how to disable FloC in Google Chrome for PC as well as smartphones.

Disable FLoC

How to Disable FloC in Google Chrome

You can block FLoC in Google Chrome both on your PC as well as smartphone. First, let’s see how to disable FLoC in Google Chrome for PC.

The option to block FLoC was first found in the canary build of Google Chrome. Google Chrome Canary is kind of like a beta version of Google Chrome where Google introduces the features first before making it available in the stable version.

Also read our guide on clearing cache and cookies from Google Chrome as well.

Turn off FLoC in Google Chrome on PC

Follow the steps given below to easily disable Google’s FLoC ad tracking system on Google Chrome for PC. The steps are pretty much the same for Windows, macOS, and Linux as well.

Step 1: First of all, open Google Chrome and type chrome://flags in the address bar, and hit enter to open Google Chrome’s flags page.

Step 2: On the search bar that appears, simply type privacy sandbox settings 2. Now the privacy sandbox settings 2 option will show up.

Step 3: By default, the option will be disabled. All you have to do is click on the drop-down menu and select the option enabled. Now restart Google Chrome and relaunch it.

Enable Privacy Sandbox Settings 2
Enable Privacy Sandbox Settings 2

Step 4: Once reopened, go to Chrome’s settings section and select Privacy and Security from the options available to the left side of the screen. As we have enabled the privacy sandbox settings flag, a new option called Privacy Sandbox will appear under privacy and security settings. Just click on the button.

Step 5: Now a pop-up will appear with two options. We have to disable both Privacy Sandbox Trials as well as FLoC toggles. Once done, you have successfully turned off FLoC in Google Chrome on a PC.

Disable FLoC in Google Chrome on Smartphone

If you are using Google Chrome on your android or iOS device and want to turn off FLoC then follow the steps mentioned below.

Step 1: Open Google Chrome and tap on the three dots icon from the top right corner of the screen and tap on settings

Step 2: From the settings screen, select privacy and security under the basics tab. To the bottom of the screen, you will find an option called Privacy Sandbox, just tap on it.

Step 3: Now you need to disable the option called Privacy Sandbox Trials. Disabling this option will automatically turn off FLoC in Google Chrome. The steps are pretty much the same for both Android as well as iOS.

What is FLoC?

FLoC stands for Federated Learning of Cohorts. It is a new technology developed by Google to replace third-party cookies used by most websites on the internet. The core reason why Google developed FLoC is to protect users’ privacy on the internet.

Here is what it basically does. Google will divide users into different cohorts or groups based on the interest and behavior of users across the web. The best part of this is that websites won’t be able to identify a user individually, instead, they will only have access to a collection of people who are having the same interest and behavior.

Google will update or generate a new cohort every single week by analyzing users’ interests, behavior and changes over time. So this is the basics of FLOC. You can learn more about FLoC and how it works from here.

If you are in search of a browser similar to Google Chrome with better features then take a look at the list of browsers similar to Google Chrome.

Final Words

This is how we disable FLoC in Google Chrome on the PC version and mobile versions. FLoC will be beneficial for Google but not for users and other common people. Google recently announced that people can opt out of FLoC if they are not interested in it. So it is better to keep the option disabled in Google Chrome.

Clearing cookies in Google Chrome will help you increase the performance and free up some space as well. Over time, the cookie files stored on your computer will get accumulated and it might make your device laggy.

At the time of writing this article, Google Chrome accounted for more than 67 percent of the whole PC web browser market share. Google Chrome is a popular and leading web browser available for a plethora of platforms including Android, iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Windows, Linux, Chromebook, etc.

In this article, let’s see how to clear cookies and cache files from Google Chrome on Android and PC versions as well.

Clear Google Chrome Cookies and Cache

Why Clear Cookies & Cache?

Cookies and Caches are small files that will be stored on your web browser when you visit some websites. Cookies will basically have details about you including your account information, your preferences, etc.

On the other hand, Cache files are used to make your experience faster by storing certain files on your computer. Over time, the cache file size will increase, and keeping them on your device makes no sense. Furthermore, clearing cache files from Chrome will help you free up some space which then can be used for other purposes.

Other web browsers like Google Chrome also stored cookies and caches. You may also clear them too.

How to Clear Cookies and Caches on Google Chrome

As I mentioned earlier, I will provide step-by-step instructions for both Android and PC versions of the same. It will work with other platforms including iOS and Linux as well.

Clear Cache and Cookies from PC

At first, let’s see how to clear both cookies and caches from Google Chrome for Windows, Linux, and macOS.

Step 3: Click on the Clear data button and wait for a moment. The time will depend on the amount of data to be cleared.

As you can see in the image, I have managed to clear about 300MB of cache files. This includes a lot of cached images as well.

This is how we clear cookies and cache files in Google Chrome for PC.

You also have the option to clear cookies and cache files of individual websites as well.

Clear Cookies of a Particular Website only

In order to delete cookies of a particular website only, follow the steps mentioned below.

  • Open the website from which you want to delete cookies

I suggest you clear the cache and cookie files from your device once in a while to keep things clean and clutter-free. And yes, clearing Google Chrome Cookies and Caches comes with lots of benefits.

Google Chrome is one of the best and most used leading web browsers in the industry. It is available for multiple platforms like Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux, etc. Sometimes users run into issues like Chrome not responding on Android.

If you are using the Android version of Google Chrome then chances are you might be facing some issues with the web browser from Google. In this article, we will discuss some methods that we can try to fix Google Chrome.

Fix Google Chrome Not Responding

A simple tweak sometimes can solve the issue and without wasting further time, let’s get into it.

Fix Google Chrome Not Working Issue

You might want to follow and try multiple methods given below to solve the issue. Sometimes the issue can be solved by simply restarting your Android device, yes, you heard it right!

1. Restart your device

The first thing we are going to try is to restart our phone to see if it fixes the issue. Trust me, if you face any anomaly with some apps on Android, restarting the phone can sometimes solve the issue. Restarting the smartphone makes all the processes stop and start from the beginning again.

If you are lucky enough and there’s no other problem then this method should work for you.

Restart Android Smartphone
Restart Android Smartphone

Restarting an Android device super simple. In order to restart your smartphone, just click and hold the power button. Now, a bunch of options will appear including the option to restart. Just tap on the restart button and wait for a minute or so. Once the phone turns on, try accessing Google Chrome and see if it works.

2. Make Sure There’s Enough Memory

If you have too many apps running in the background or if you have an older phone with less amount of RAM then it might cause an issue. If you are running out of memory then apps might misbehave.

If you have a lot of apps running in the background then the RAM will get filled faster and there will no enough space for other apps. In this situation, the best thing to do is clear all the apps running in the background and try accessing Google Chrome. This should fix the issue if the problem is with memory.

3. Update Google Chrome

Google frequently updates Chrome with newer versions. If some sort of bugs are discovered or new features are added, a new update will be pushed for the app. So, updating the app might solve the issue.

Update Google Chrome on Android
Update Google Chrome on Android

In order to update Google Chrome, just open Google Play Store and search for Google Chrome. Select Chrome from the list and see if an update is available or not. If the update is present, simply tap on the update button otherwise move to the next method given in the article.

4. Clear Chrome Cache

Cache files can sometimes cause some issue that makes the app stop responding or crash frequently. So clearing the cache file might help us in this situation.

For starters, cache files are simple files stored on your phone for the smooth working of the app. Over time, cache files will grow in size and eats up a lot of the phone’s memory as well. Clearing cache might help us solve the issue.

Follow the steps given below to clear Google Chrome Cache:

  • Open Settings
  • Go to the Installed Apps section (Layout and option name might differ depending on the Android version and skin you have)
  • From the list of available apps, select Google Chrome
  • Tap on Clear Data button from the bottom of the screen
Clear Google Chrome Data
Clear Google Chrome Data
  • Now two options will appear – Clear Data and Clear Cache
  • Tap on the Clear Cache button and tap on okay on the pop up that appears
Clear Cache of Google Chrome
Clear Cache of Google Chrome

Now we have successfully cleared Google Chrome Cache from Android. Try opening Google Chrome now and if the issue persists or not.

5. Reinstall Google Chrome on Android

Uninstalling and Installing Google Chrome might help us fix the Chrome not responding issue on Android. This is very simple, all you have to do is just go ahead and uninstall Google Chrome. In order to uninstall an app, you can either hold the app icon from the app drawer and then drag it to the uninstall icon that appears or just go to the Installed Apps section and uninstall the app from there.

Once uninstalled, head over to Google Play Store and install the same again. Now hopefully it should solve the problem.

6. Update Android

You might be running on an older version of Android. If that is the case then there might be pending updates for your device. Updating your Android device to the latest version could potentially solve the issue.

Update Android
Update Android

Just go to Device settings > About Phone and look for OS update. If an OS update is available just download and install it. If you haven’t updated your phone in a long time then chances are you might have pending updates. If an update is not available then move to the next method.

7. Rollback to Older Version

Sometimes the very new version of Google Chrome can cause issues with some phones. If you start facing issues with Google Chrome after updating it then rolling back to an older version will help you to fix issues.

Even if you haven’t manually updated Google Chrome, sometimes it can get updated in the background. If this is the case then follow the steps given below.

  • Uninstall Google Chrome
  • Go to this website and download the APK file of an older version of Google Chrome (Select a version that is one or two steps back. Do not download way too old version of Chrome.)
  • After downloading the APK file, just install it on your phone. Similar to sideloading an app on Android

Now open Google Chrome and see if the issue is solved or not.

These are some methods that you can try to fix Google Chrome not responding issue on Android. Even after trying all the methods mentioned above, if you are not able to fix the problem then you might want to consider using a different web browser like Firefox or Brave.

There are a good number of other web browsers available on the Internet. You can download any one of them and start using it on your Android device. Furthermore, there are a lot of other chromium-based browsers for Android as well.
